Since 2000, trucks equipped with early-generation Westport LNG systems have been in service in North American fleets.
Norcal Waste Systems, Inc. (San Francisco, CA) has operated a fleet of Westport-equipped trucks for much of its long-haul transfer operations. Norcal's LNG trucks have logged over six million miles, each hauling 80,000 lbs GVW on a 120-mile round trip to a landfill site-six times a day.

Likewise, the Westport fleet at Challenger Motor Freight (Cambridge, Ontario) covered more than 450,000 miles on the Highway 401 corridor between Toronto and Michigan during a year-long demonstration program in 2006. Five trucks fitted with Westport LNG system engines completed a daily 300-500 mile round trip hauling loads of up to 140,000 lbs. The Westport LNG system proved itself for Challenger with 97% vehicle availability, and fuel consumption within four percent of diesel trucks that were used on the same routes.

Extensive in-service experience allows Westport to bring advanced systems to the commercial market with confidence.
