Westport's liquefied natural gas (LNG) system for
heavy-duty trucks offers class-leading emissions performance
while maintaining equal horsepower, torque, and efficiency
to a diesel-fueled engine.
The application of Westport's LNG system to the Cummins ISX
engine substantially reduces greenhouse gases (GHG) and
other air contaminant emissions, to well below standards set
by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for 2007
heavy-duty on-road applications.
The Westport engine is fueled with LNG-a safe, cost
effective, low carbon, and low emissions fuel. Westport
gives users fuel capacities ranging from 33 to 112 diesel
equivalent gallons (DEG). With matching or better fuel
efficiency (depending on operation), vehicle range can be
tailored to suit customer applications.
The Westport LNG system is available with 400 and 450
horsepower ratings and up to 1,750 lb-ft torque.
